When you aren’t trying to get pregnant, it might not be the first thing to pop into your mind to explain the weird things happening to your body. You might be wondering, “why am I so tired lately?” or “where are these dizzy spells coming from?” Then your period is late, which might finally help connect the dots and make you consider “Ohhh, could I be pregnant?”

Some typical early pregnancy signs include:

  • Missed period
  • Nausea/vomiting
  • Dizziness
  • Breast changes/tenderness
  • Frequent urination
  • Appetite changes
  • Fatigue
  • Weight gain or loss

The trouble is, some of these signs can be a normal part of your menstrual period or can be caused by other factors such as stress or illness, but once pregnancy has crossed your mind, it is difficult to think of anything else until you get an answer.

You can pick up a pregnancy test (or four) at the dollar store, follow the instructions, and wait anxiously in your bathroom at home…or you can come see us at Gateway Women’s Care.

We will provide free lab-quality pregnancy tests and limited ultrasound for qualified clients. You will be welcomed to a calm and confidential space with nurses available to answer any specific questions you might have.  You will have the opportunity to talk through all that you’re feeling with a trained advocate who can discuss with you your pregnancy options.

So take a minute, take a breath, and make a call. You’ve got this. Gateway Women’s Care is here to help.
